Call Me Baepsae

Inspired by "Baepsae" by BTS. A song about the wealth inequality in the youth and enduring the struggle of holding down a steady job, all while their elders tell them they’re just lazy and need to try harder. It invokes the Korean saying “If a crow-tit tries to walk like a stork, it will tear its legs,” meaning if you try to be someone/something you’re not, you will self destruct.

A Love of Nostalgia

Inspired by the song Only Wanna Be With You by Hootie and the Blowfish. I have worked to capture the vibrant nostalgia the song fills me with, as well as the colorful style of the time period.

A Bad Girl

Inspired by the song Bad Reputation by Joan Jett. A woman who does not fit the convention of femininity stands proud and resolute.

Just Make It Through

Inspired by the song Move Along by The All American Rejects. When all seems lost and hopeless, just keep pushing through. Chances are good that you can make it.

Dance of the Trumpets

Inspired by the song Mambo No. 5 by Lou Bega. It is evocative of the bright contrasting colors that I picture when listening to jazz music.
